Anti Itch Salve DIY
In this video, I show you how to make a DIY anti-itch salve that you can make up and have on hand for treating itchy rashes, bug bites, and stings.
The recipe uses ingredients and essential oils that have anti-inflammatory, and soothing properties for your skin.
When you have a rash or bug bite, it’s the inflammatory response of your body that causes the itching in the area. You can pull out this anti-itch salve and rub it on the area. The active ingredients will get to work relieving the inflammation and so it will help relieving the itch.
Coconut oil – a natural moisturizer that nourishes and protects your skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties.
Shea Butter- contains vitamins A & E and also is rich in fatty acids that your skin needs. It is anti-inflammatory and helps to moisturize your skin.
Vitamin E oil– is used as a preservative and it’s also
Witch hazel- has certain antioxidant properties that can help to relieve minor itching and has astringent properties which can help as well.
Apple cider vinegar- is another home remedy for itching skin.
Bentonite clay- is useful for relieving itch and is especially useful to help heal venomous stings and bites such as from bees or wasps.
Lavender essential oil is soothing to the skin and has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties
Tea Tree essential oil has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
Helichrysum essential oil is anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic and also has analgesic properties to help calm the itch and relieve pain. It is very effective in helping to heal wounds such as bug bites and other skin conditions.
Frankincense essential oil is a skin tonic and it has antioxidant properties.
Myrrh essential oil is great for the skin. It can boost antioxidant levels and the anti-inflammatory properties can help to relieve the itch.
